There are plenty of reasons why you should join a club – but here are just ten:

.Socialising – Joining a club is a great way to meet new people and expand your social group. Clubs have a lot of other of members, so you’re bound to hit it off with some. Plus, it’s likely that you’re meeting like-minded people who have similar interests.

.Networking – You will have the opportunity to meet and network with people who could know about certain opportunities and help you in future. They may invite you to join in other activities outside the club and you will get to know even more people and maybe enhance your CV.

.Volunteer and enhance your employability prospects –  You can log your time spent with your club as volunteering hours. These can go on your volunteering record and be used to enhance your employability prospects.

.Promote awareness – Membership helps promote your knowledge and awareness about sport and sporting activities in the area, across the county and the country. You know whats happening.

.Exposure to life – Membership exposes you to real life experiences, further expanding your knowledge of people and it can shows you what really go’s on in the background to make things happen!

.Community – Being a member automatically gives you a feeling of closeness to players and members, you share something that other people are not a part of. You can spend time getting to know people and maybe even join committees or sub groups.

.Regular activity – Joining the club offers the chance for regular activity. We can get very lethargic at times, especially in winter, and find leaving the house a lot of effort. As a result, we end up staying at home feeling bored. If you go to weekly club meetings, take a walk or jog around the track or attend a match you’ll soon make it part of your routine. The more you do, the more energy you have.

.Enrichment: Being part of a community run club is an enriching experience. You owe it to yourself to at least try it out, how do you know if it’s useful or not if you’ve never tried?!

.Metal wellbeing–Playing sport for yourself and get your family / kids involved from an early age. Physical and metal wellbeing can benfit all parts of life including  improved moods, bursts of happiness and increased relaxation. Taking part in games improves your concentration, reduce stress and depression and improves sleeping habits to name just a few benefits.

.Have fun and keep in touch – Your time at the club doesn’t have to be all sport exercise or committes, joining is a great way of having fun, sharing a joke and taking part in celebration! You can attend a range of sporting and social events and feel at ease meeting people from across the GAA community at home or away.
